James 1:2-3

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of faith develops perseverance  James 1:2-3

What does it mean "Consider it pure joy?" In my mind when I consider this I think about joy as times with my husband that I had such a great day that my smile was stuck in the ON position. Times when I laughed with my son so hard my sides ached. Times when my daughter and I were so excited over new haircuts after a great lunch together.

Then I think about the scripture, Consider it pure joy, when I face trails of many kinds. I have trouble reconciling this in my mind. I was thinking about this again tonight when a new thought came to mind.
The understanding of God's gift to us in Jesus is the key to understanding the pure joy that is mentioned in this passage. I am so grateful to our God and Creator for this precious thing he has given us called life. For those of us that have accept Christ as Lord it will be an eternal gift. I have so much joy. That is the pure joy from the scripture. The more I pray that God gives me the mind of Christ, the better equipped I am to deal with the trials that I will face. The battle is not mine it is Gods. My job is to trust him in whatever circumstance I find myself.

When I am not in the middle of the trail I know that joy this passage is talking about. Thank you God for caring me through the trails of my life. I pray that God blesses us and teaches us that pure joy from this scripture.
